PROFESsee is my title. I am the perpetual learner, in pursuit of knowledge, wisdom and truth. I derived my name from professor
Port Said is named after Khedive Said who actually approved its establishment in 25th of April, 1859. This Port has been one of the very first to advance greatly in Africa, having seen electricity in 1891, just 9 years after New York City. It has been fought over. This Port city flourished in the late 19th to the mid-20th century because of its importance to the Mediterranean countries. It was host to a cosmopolitan community of people from all walks of life and races.
Being very popular, back then it was said that if someone got lost and you wanted to find them, you would find them either in London or in Port Said.
Did you know that the New York Statue of Liberty was to be erected in Port Said? Sure would have given the Land of the Pharaohs a great Yankee touch.
Port Said located on the Mediterranean Sea, is the entry point of the Suez Canal. It is a man-made canal of 190 km that links the Mediterranean Sea to the Red Sea that borders the Sinai Peninsula, home to the Saint Catherine's Monastery, known as the seat of the Coptic Christian faith rooted in Egypt, a must-visit site.
The Port is adorned with buildings, which have splendid architectural styles that are quite a site by themselves. If you happen to visit Egypt either on a business trip or any other trip this is a place you should call your home for the few days you will be staying. It boasts of executive hotels with lovely suites just what you need to make it as memorable as possible. At night, you will be able to enjoy the awesome sight of Suez Canal right from your balcony.
During the day, enjoy walking along the shore as you view the beautiful excursions. Do not forget to carry a camera to save some of these memories. Another place you will find alluring is the Port Said Military Museum, it houses some of the oldest military pieces that were used in wars by the Egyptian army.
You will also enjoy the sight of the lighthouse that is among the oldest buildings remaining in Egypt; it is 56 meters high. This is something you do not want to miss. Getting to Port Said is easy. There is a variety of buses, cabs, and a nearby airport, which will cost you just a few dollars.

Can you search for Port Said and 2 other cities?
