Think what you want but first thing pops into my mind is Chianti wine when I hear about Tuscany. But apart from the imbibing fanfare, there is more that you can find here. The Region of Tuscany is found in central Italy. It comprises of approximately 23,000 km2 area. Its regional capital is called Florence. This region is famous for its beautiful way of life seen in the history, traditions and artistic legacy that has been inherited from the past generations. It is a region with beautiful landscapes and it is the Italian Renaissance birthplace. It has given rise to some of the most influential figures in the science and art history. For this reason, it boasts a number of museums like Pitti Palace, Uffizi, to mention a few. For lovers of sweet-tasting wine, this is the perfect place to be. Tuscany’s wine is very popular. Some of the popular wines’ names include Morellinio Di Scansano, Chianti and Brunello Di Montalcino, plus others. The region has six localities that have been chosen as world heritage sites namely:
The sole region of Tuscany comprises over 120 nature reserves that are protected. These nature reserves act as tourist attractions making it a top tourist destination for millions of tourists annually. It received over 1.715 million tourists in 2007. I know they say there is Paradise after death, but Tuscany is the one place to compare that with. Here, every pass and every valley has a river. From the Tuscan coast, for people who reckon they are aesthetic by nature, they will have more than an eye-fill of art. The land itself looks like a marvel of art. When you go to Rome, do as the Romans do. However, when you go to Tuscany, be a free spirit, be a person of spontaneity and see where that will take you. You will be surprised that you will have so much fun. The climate of Tuscany is very pleasant, better than Africa that gets sun all year round. The coastal areas are mild, the interior parts experience harsher and rainy conditions while summer and winter seasons experience considerable fluctuations making it an all-time tourist destination.
