Aah Egypt! Who doesn’t want to go there? It is the one place that puts Africa on the map long ago. Its ruins have attracted so much speculation: So many historians and archeologists, even treasure-hunters who like to think that the ancient Egyptians were very rich.

One of the Hatshepsut temple ruins are situated at Deir el Bahari in Luxor near Nile River. This temple was dedicated to an ancient Egypt Queen Hatshepsut who was the longest ruling female during ancient times. This temple was famous for the presence of decorations of reliefs, statues and sphinxes. Although these decorations were terribly ruined, in the present day they are being meticulously restored with time.

Trust carvers and artisans with the preservation of history and you will not be disappointed. That is why the Valley of the artisans is another treasured ruin. It was the home of painters, laborers, carvers and craftsmen. Their work can still be seen because it was kept in excellent conditions.

Abu Simbel is another of the ruins. The stone temples were near Sudan and they remained undiscovered for a long time. They were dedicated to the Gods of the sun. These are two big temples of Nefertari and Ramses. In the present day, they are situated in the Aswan Dam position. They were moved with the help of governments from other countries. The Dendur Temple is in the Metropolitan Museum of Art after being given as a gift to the New York government.

Egyptian pyramids are the most famous archeological treasures, (and they are) one of the seven wonders of the world. While everyone was running to look at the pyramids of Egypt, a few miles from the banks of River Nile lay greater treasures among the ruins of Egypt. These only served to prove that the Nile has been the main source of life for Egypt.

They say that Ethiopia has diverted one of the main tributaries of the Blue Nile to their dam, and that will deny Egypt some of the water. The Ethiopians should just go and see the historical evidence of how the Nile has been the source of livelihood for Egypt for many centuries.

Among the pyramid complex at Giza ruins, only the great pyramid of Cheops was left standing. The sphinx stands guard plus other several lesser pyramids that surrounds it. It was and still stands to be one of the most treasured and important area in Egyptology.

Another ruined area is the temple of Karnak and the Luxor temple. Luxor temple is believed to have been built in the eighteenth dynasty of Amenhotep III. It was built in one of the yearly celebrations of the Opet Festival.

The Temple of Karnak is a historical site among the ancient ruins. It was commonly referred to as Ipet-Isut loosely translated as “most select of places”.
