The creation story has been fraught with agreements and more disagreements over the years that man has been on earth. It is only the generations closest to the creation time that can actually differentiate the truth from myths and legends that we have come to believe. There are scholars all around the earth that have tried to lead people into believing that their explanation is the right one and that it makes more sense compared to what others have to say. While the thinkers handle their battle for theory and argument supremacy the common people are scratching their heads and not because they are itchy, but because they want to find the truth of origin and creation. Ancient people believed in just a few things because of their shallow knowledge of things. Well, the understanding of how the genesis was perceived back then can either be due to the ignorance of modern scholars or the lack of civilization in the past. Whatever the case, there must have been a Genesis and understanding of what really happened that resulted in our existence and the fact that we are here trying to find out. Genesis talks nothing about a flat earth, but there was a widespread notion that the earth was flat with a dome-shaped outer layer that was solid and housed the flat earth as well as the sun, moon and stars. There were also beliefs that the solid layer was preventing water from entering the atmosphere though there were flood gates. Some scholars believe that the water above the raqia (the solid layer) was supposed to depict clouds while others argue that the water represents the crystal sea in heaven. The many bubbles scholar had then burst a long time ago when the world was found to be spherical and that there was no solid layer protecting the world from floods.
