The North African continent is one that has a lot of peculiarities. For the records, North Africa has the highest mix of different races. This means that it is here that you will get the highest mixture of black-and-white people. It is made up of the seven countries that fall within the continent of Africa, but are separated from the rest of the African countries by the Sahara desert. It is a natural division made by the desert, and because of this, the other countries that are separated from the north by the desert are called sub-Saharan African countries. The fact is that these northern countries are completely different from the others both in terms of politics, religion and even culture.
When it comes to religion and culture, the influence of the Asian and Arabian masters is so obvious on them that they are mostly Muslims in religion, culture and politics. There are seven main countries in the region of North Africa, and they include Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Sudan, Tunisia and Western Sahara.
Algeria has its capital as Algiers. Its official language is the Arabic language and Berber French. It runs a semi-presidential system of government and has the Algerian dinar as its currency, with a total population of 35 million people.
Egypt has Cairo as its capital. It uses the Arabic and Berber French languages as its official languages. It also has the semi-presidential system of government, though under emergency rule at the moment. Its currency is the Egyptian pound, and it boasts a population of about 80 million people.
Libya is the next. Its capital is Tripoli. It runs a Republican political system and has Arabic as its official language. The population of its inhabitants is 6.5 million and dinar is its currency.
Morocco has its capital as Rabat. The official language is Arabic. It is governed by a constitutional monarchy, with a population of about 33 million people and Moroccan dirham as its currency.
Sudan has Khartoum as its capital. The authorized language is Arabic and English. It runs a federal presidential government and has a population of 44 million people with Sudanese pounds as its formal currency.
Tunisian capital is Tunis. Their official language is Arabic and French. It has a presidential Republican system of government, with a population of 10.5 million people and Tunisian dinar as the currency.
Western Sahara should be about the smallest here. The capital is Laayoune, with Arabic, Spanish and French languages. The government system is still under dispute. It has a population of 500,000 people and uses the dirham, Sahrawi and Peseta as its currencies.
