Ibn Battuta is a great Moroccan explorer known for his expeditions in the area of travel. This has put his name in the list of the greatest explorers and adventurers whom the world has ever produced. He lived during the 14th century and made a lot of journeys. However, one of the highest points of the journeys he made is that he is not just a passive traveler or historian, but he became so active in all the places he visited and with the people that he encountered during the visits. It was in the year 1325 that he embarked on his first trip at the age of 20. He started with the main purpose of going on a pilgrimage to Mecca, which is one of the injunctions given to all capable Muslims by the holy prophet. At the same time, this turned out to be an adventure worth recording, as he spent 29 years of his life visiting different countries and encountering the inhabitants. At the end of it all, it was recorded that he ended up visiting about 44 different countries when measured with the modern-day geography. Nevertheless, these countries were mostly nations that were under the rule of Islamic forces. The fact is that, he covered more than 75,000 miles during this series of journeys. During the period of travel that lasted for 29 years, Battuta came across different dangers, which he stomached as a giant and which never deterred him from his journey. These dangers include being attacked by thieves on several occasions. He was also involved in a sinking ship that almost got him drowned. There is also a record that he once met a tyrant who tried to behead him due to some misunderstandings, but later spared his life. On the lighter side of the journeys embarked on by Battuta is the fact that he also got involved in several love affairs. This made him to get into several marriages during the period under review. These marriages yielded some fruits, and he had some children scattered in the places he visited. After his travels, he got back to his native land Morocco. Even so, before his death, the monarch demanded that he explain all his adventures to a scholar, who later put them into writing for all to read. Can you Trace the points of his journey?
