Even Indonesia does have a part to play, a claim to the history of mankind. If you think that their only claim is the Thai dancers and hot spicy food, you think wrong. The discovery of the Java man happened there. It was thought that the Java Man was the oldest of the great apes, up until greater discoveries were made in Kenya, yes, in the rift valley. Trust Africa to always come in where you least expect her, and take the claim as the first land where man lived.
Human beings have come a long way to become the sophisticated beings we see today. From crawling animals to the present geniuses who can even create clones within the environs of a modern science laboratory. The popular Darwin Evolutionary theory presents an account of how it all started when we walked on four until when we rose upright.
As opposed to the ape-like man who had a lot of fur all over his body, this ancestor of the modern man had few hairs on him. In addition, he was taller and had a larger brain than his precursors. Fire was a luxury and all he could eat was some fruits and nuts. Somehow, he realized that it was within his power to create heat. With just a rubbing effect of two sticks, he made his first discovery one that would later lead to other consequential inventions. Fire now became his companion, he could now enjoy roasted meat and the diet was a bit diversified. He used the fire to warm himself at night and gradually he lost the hair on his body.
He also realized that he could make simple tools to use during hunting and for his safety. Fire then became the best inheritance that this ancestor; it has given us the power to create technical tools and machinery. Moreover, using it we have created extensive infrastructure to help us in our day-to-day lives, all thanks to the former man.
